Welcome to Pear Deck! If you use PowerPoint Online and you want to automatically collect responses from your students, this is the article for you. Keep reading to learn how to get the Pear Deck for PowerPoint Online Add-in. If you are a Microsoft Office 365 Administrator, click here for a guide to installing the Pear Deck Add-in for users at your school. Please note that Pear Deck is only available in the Online version of PowerPoint (not in the Desktop version) at this time.
With Pear Deck, you can engage every student in your class, every day. Pear Deck lets you automatically collect various types of input from students, instantly show responses anonymously on the Projector View, get insight into students' progress, and more.
- Open any PowerPoint Online presentation.
- Click on the Insert tab.
- Click on Add-ins. To see Add-ins, you may need to click on the three-dots menu button or expand the browser window.
- The Office Add-ins menu opens. Find the Pear Deck Add-in and click Add to install it. The Add-in is free, but there are some special features available with Pear Deck Premium.
- Going forward, click on the Home tab. Then click on the More Options (3-dots) button and select Pear Deck to open the sidebar. With the Pear Deck sidebar, you can add Custom Interactive questions to any slide. You can also download pre-made Slide Templates from the Template Library and upload them into any presentation.
